Incapable of laying upright on his own following back surgery, Xander is propped up on comfortable bedding in the Center's main gym so he can feel a part of everything that is going on. This provides emotional support which is important to the animal's purposeful recovery.

Special Needs Boarding

Some of our patients need more care than can be provided for them at home, or live too far away to easily get here for regular treatment. For these pets we offer a therapeutic boarding option. The patients stay with us and can receive regular treatments.

Particular care is used in caring for our special needs boarders, starting with extra large indoor/outdoor runs. Proper bedding is provided to insure comfort as well as prevent health issues associated with being bed-ridden. We periodically turn those patients who cannot do so for themselves, and monitor them for urinary tract complications. Special needs boarders receive mental, physical and emotional stimulation throughout the day to promote recovery.

As with our regular patients, owners are kept up to date on the status of their pet, and regular reports are sent to the referring veterinarian.

Regular Boarding

For animals who do not need rehabilitation while boarding, we recommend boarding with Happy Campers Boarding and Doggie Daycare at Loving Touch Animal Center. Boarders can receive exercise and conditioning during their owners' absence by scheduling an appointment for a session in Caring Canine's Underwater Treadmill.
